Unfortunately in Oregon there aren’t many schools for audio engineering. This might be an issue for those wanting to relocate, earn their degree, and begin working in the state.

However, if you have already achieved your educational goals, it might be a good state to look into as far as the salary/cost of living ratio is concerned.

Summary

Oregon is one of only two states in the nation that do not have self-serve gas stations. Who really wants to pump their own gas! It is also the only state in the nation to have two different designs on its flag.

It is also home to the largest sea cave in the world; it is called Sea Lions Cave and is near Florence. The state is also known for its bicycling fanaticism, the city of Eugene is rated one of the top ten in the nation.

The average cost of living in the state is 6% lower than the national average. That means your purchasing power might be a little higher, of course this is dependent upon your salary and personal cost of living.

The average annual salary in the state is around $5000 lower than the national average and is generally around $42,000 per year. An audio engineer in the state can expect to bring home around $72,000 per year.

For someone working in the audio engineering field, especially one that is into cycling, Oregon might be a great place to look into if you are seeking relocation.

It is also ok for those looking to earn a degree and work, so long as you are comfortable with living in the vicinity of the college you choose to attend.
